Goodwill Table Makeover
In the past year I have really grown to enjoy giving furniture a makeover with paint. I’m constantly on the lookout for pieces to paint even though I really have no place in my home for them. (I think someone needs a shop!) I enjoy the process of transforming something from ho-hum to spectacular.
Earlier in the winter I found this table at Goodwill for $12.95. It was solid, needed no repairs, and I liked its design.
Before painting the table, I sanded it to smooth out some of its nicks. After having such a great experience with using Velvet Finishes paint for my recent plant stand makeover, I used that brand of paint again, this time in Opulent.
The result of this table makeover is that it is now my favorite of any piece that I’ve painted.
Shiny gold paint applied to the grooves in the legs gives this piece an elegant look. I love how the gold coordinates with the Opulent paint color.
I have moved this pretty table all over my home trying to find a spot for it. I really do like it!
Right now the poor thing is hiding under a blanket in my basement waiting to find a home. I think I need to try a little harder to find room for it!
I’ve had plenty of painting time since our area has been plagued with snow and ice causing school to be canceled. I’m almost finished with a few more pieces and am excited to share them with you.

Holy cow! Every time I go to the GW, the furniture is price outrageous! I say you scored a great deal and made it look beautiful!
Thanks, Gwen! I got this at your Goodwill. Goodwill’s prices are crazy! I think it depends on who is doing the pricing.
Paula

Well done you clever and patient lady(with painting the lovely gold indented lines
Thanks, Mary! It did require some patience and a steady hand to paint the gold lines.

I’m getting ready to move from a 2 bedroom apartment, back into my 5 bedroom house. I’m pretty sure I can find a place for this table! I love it so much!! Nice job.
Paula, I love this table! It has just great lines and I love the pop of gold you added!
Wow, hard to believe it’s the same table. It came out great!

Beautiful makeover, Paula! You got the table at such a great price. I love the color you chose. The gold paint really brings out the details in the base.
Thanks, Brandi! I really was lucky with the price. A lot of the time around here Goodwill prices on furniture are quite high.

Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!

This table is absolutely beautiful! I love the little gold accents. The finish looks so smooth too. I call this a perfect makeover!
Thank, Megan! I love this table and hate that I don’t have a place for it in my home. I’ve got it stored in the basement just in case I ever think of a spot where it will work.
